Forbidden City

So we kind of agreed to do more than one tour.....and then I read about this researcher on Games, Learning and Society Ning who was presenting on Virtual Worlds and Daoist and Confucian Beliefs. Her and her research partner graciously agreed to speak before we tour the Forbidden City world at the VW- BPE conference. So Dona Connor (SL) and Larken Shepherd (SL) will be presenting "Transcending the Virtual" prior to the tour.

Saturday March 28th 8 am Forbidden City
Talk/Tour will begin with “The Reality of Transcending the Virtual”, by Dona Cady (RL) and Don Margulis (RL). It will then be followed by a short tour of IBM and the government of China’s Forbidden City Beyond Time and Space.

Participants will open up a new window on their computer, download application (can take 5- 10 mins depending on computer speed). There is an option to enter as guest rather than make an avatar. The group will be guided by the inworld AI guides and Kavon Zenovka and Abacus Capalini for a short tour. The participants will return to Second Life for discussion and de-brief. This tour is meant to start a discussion of how Forbidden City could be used in an educational setting.
