Here comes Dragons Vs. Robots! This is an RPG with transmedia ambitions. It is definitely not EduPunx, in that the plan here is clearly to target the tween market with a ton of different strategies designed to separate them from their money. Howeve…

Here is a fascinating spin on immersion from one of the Center's favorite friends, Botgirl Questi. I think the really interesting aspect of this story is her take on immersion. But on a side note: Her confession is creating some anxiety in the blo…

pedagogy? Huh, all we do is try to deal with a society that gives lip service to education while spending money on bombs and orchestrate ways to deal with the most asinine piece of legislation ever passed by anyone claiming to be working for the betterment of the people--NCLB in case you were wondering! That being said, however, we are doing some interesting things to involve parents and get teachers to stop accepting work that is bad just because they are fed up with dealing with it. I'll go into more detail later, but yeah, I'm hoping we're onto something here, like less formal meet and greet things for teachers and parents (no students), actually going to students' houses, incorporating eighth period and zero hour classes for homework and kids that are failing and providing buses (which has been a BIG problem nationwide)

Dragons Vs. Robots

Here comes Dragons Vs. Robots! This is an RPG with transmedia ambitions. It is definitely not EduPunx, in that the plan here is clearly to target the tween market with a ton of different strategies designed to separate them from their money.

However, if it takes off, we'll figure out ways to piggy back on their involvement, and discover "teachable moments." LOL! I promise never… Continue

LA Times Covers BlizzCon

The article chose to focus on the Dread Pirates, who have formed real bonds of friendship through playing WoW together. They meet IRL life at BlizzCon, but in-game three or four nights a week. These guys are each other's "peeps" or "posse": when they need someone to talk to, hang with, or heal with, they turn to their fellow pirates.

Is there something wrong with this? I don't think so. But I know there's still a lot of opposition to the very thought that deep and lasting friendships -- the kin… Continue

I don't know how to distinguish this from WoW or Runescape! Anyone?
